Your trust matters to us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we keep it safe when you use July AI.

What we collect

• Account info — your sign-in details, handled securely by our authentication provider (Clerk).
• Conversations — the messages you exchange with July AI, so it can remember context and respond personally.
• Preferences — small settings like your companion's name, chosen vibe, and theme.

How we use it

We use your data only to make July AI work: to remember your past chats, calibrate its personality to you, and keep your account secure. We do not sell your data.

AI processing & third-party services

July AI is an AI companion. To generate replies, the content you send — the text of your messages and any photos you attach — is transmitted to our third-party AI provider, OpenRouter (openrouter.ai), which routes the request to underlying model providers such as Anthropic and OpenAI. These providers process your messages solely to generate a response and, under their API terms, do not use the content to train their public models. We share only what is needed to produce a reply, and we require these providers to protect your data to a standard equal to this policy. Authentication is handled by Clerk.

Where it lives

Conversations are stored in a secure database and tied to your account. They are private to you.

Your control

You can delete your account and all associated data — conversations, memory, and profile — at any time directly in the app: open Settings → Delete account. You can also erase your conversation history without deleting your account via Settings → Erase memory. If you need help, reach out via our contact page.

We may update this policy as July AI evolves. Significant changes will be reflected here with a new date.
